What a difference a year makes.
Nearly 13 months ago to the day - in the midst of a public meltdown that introduced the world to terms such as "Tiger Blood" and the ever-irritating "Winning!" - Charlie Sheen appeared on The Today Show and said he had no regrets over his behavior.
"I'm going to live my life the way I want and I'm going to win every moment!" Sheen said at the time.
Fast forward to this morning and...
... Sheen told Matt Lauer this morning, on the same program, that he finds moments and quotes such as that "a little cringeable to watch because I don't recognize part of who that guy was."
And who is Charlie Sheen now? Someone who still delivers the occasional rant, but who, through "a team effort, ultimately led by myself," claims to have found a path back to sanity, one that will culminate this summer on FX's Anger Management.
"I couldn't have the Two and a Half Men thing be my TV legacy - I couldn't have it end on that note," he said, bitter as always toward ex-boss Chuck Lorre. "So far, eight days [on Anger Management] was more fun than eight years [on Men]."
